Philips TUV TL Mini Lamps
The TUV TL Mini is a UVC germicidal lamp used for disinfecting water and air in professional settings.
- The special glass filters out ozone-producing radiation at the 185 nm wavelength.
- Provides maximum safety for germicidal disinfection with high efficiency.
- Reliable brand with long service life, easy to replace/maintain.
- Delivers consistent UV output throughout its lifetime.
- Ozone-free germicidal lamp.
TUV TL Mini T5 lamps are double-ended UVC (germicidal) lamps used in professional water
and air disinfection units. TUV T5 lamps offer almost constant UV output over their
complete lifetime, for maximum security of disinfection and high system efficacy.
Moreover, they have a long and reliable lifetime, which allows maintenance to be
planned for in advance.
UV-C Light
The UV-C light, with a short wavelength of 200-300 nm, can break the bonds of nucleotides in DNA, creating pyrimidine dimers and rendering bacteria, viruses, and protozoa inactive or killed. These lamps are used in laboratories, medical facilities, and specialized applications such as wastewater treatment and potable water production to kill microorganisms.
Recommended Installation Direction
- GUV can be used in several ways in healthcare settings, such as for sterilization of medical tools.
- For air sterilization, install the GUV light at the top of the room (above head height, out of direct line of sight) with the light facing the upper area of the room to avoid irritation from exposure to GUV light.
Is GUV Exposure Dangerous? - No long-term health effects from being near GUV.
- GUV radiation may cause slight irritation to the eyes and skin, which is why proper installation is crucial.
- Correct installation ensures the UV radiation is directed towards the ceiling, reducing risk of exposure to the eyes or skin.
Common Locations for GUV Use:
- Healthcare facilities, such as outpatient departments.
- Hospitals, laboratories, and facilities with high occupancy, such as shelters and prisons.
Example Applications:
- UV disinfection of tuberculosis (TB) in healthcare settings.
- Air cleaning with GUV in areas with poor ventilation, such as homes, prisons, or medical facilities with TB patients.

Why UV-C Spectrum?
- UV-C (shortwave 280-200 nm) is highly effective in sterilizing, and it does not produce harmful ozone.
- Viruses are most sensitive to UV-C, followed by bacteria with fungi and fungal spores being the least sensitive.
